Accademia Melitalia is an Italian language institute for Sri Lankan adults living in Italy. We teach you how to speak, read and write Italian for real daily life — not just to pass a test. Classes are conducted in Sinhala or English so you understand every word.
Many people say they just want to speak — no grammar. But grammar is what lets you build sentences on your own, not just repeat what you heard. We teach both in the simplest way possible, so you can use Italian every day with real confidence.
You do not need any Italian at all to join. We begin from the alphabet, correct pronunciation, and the very first building blocks of the language.
Whether you need to speak with your employer, understand official documents, communicate at a medical appointment, or simply feel less isolated — this course builds the Italian you actually need.
This course takes you from zero to A2 in 10 months. Those who want to keep going can continue to B1 — the level needed for many Italian residency and citizenship applications.
Every week the course combines a live lesson, a mobile app for daily practice, and recorded sessions you can replay whenever you need — so you never fall behind.
Every week you join a 2.5-hour live lesson on Zoom with your group. The teacher covers new grammar, vocabulary, speaking and pronunciation. You will receive your Zoom link one hour before class, through WhatsApp and the app — no technical knowledge required to join. In addition, you will take part in a Knowledge Sharing Session once a week, where you share what you learned in class with your classmates in Italian. This gives you the chance to practice using the language to express your own ideas, experiences and learning — and helps make Italian feel more familiar and natural.
The app is your personal learning companion between lessons. It sends you a short Daily Dose every day — a new word, phrase or mini-lesson relevant to daily life in Italy. If you miss a class, you can watch the full recording through the app at any time that suits you.
After every lesson, you will receive a short quiz and practice exercise to complete in your own time. These are not exams — they are the tool that makes what you learned stick. The more consistently you complete them, the faster your Italian improves. Your teacher is always available if anything is unclear.
Everything is transparent. Here is exactly what you pay, when you pay it, and what you receive in return.
Both groups follow exactly the same curriculum with the same teachers. The only difference is the day of the week. Both groups begin in March 2026. Seats are limited.
Melissa is a Biotechnology graduate from the University of Pavia — one of Italy's oldest and
most respected universities. Having grown up entirely within the Italian education system, she
knows from the inside exactly how Italian is structured, how it is taught in schools, and what
adults arriving from other countries need most to feel capable and confident in their daily
lives.
Before founding Accademia Melitalia, she gained professional experience in international
organisations including GSK. She has been teaching Italian to adult learners for more than four
years. She is currently completing Ditals training — a specialist qualification in Teaching
Italian to Foreigners — to further raise the academic standard of the academy.
Her approach to teaching adults is practical, patient and focused on real results: language that
you can actually use, not just recite.
At the end of the course, you receive an official Attestato di Partecipazione issued by Accademia Melitalia. This is not just a participation sticker — it is a recognised document you can use in real, important situations.
The course works — but only if you show up. Here is what we need from every student to make sure your time and money produce real results.
Regular attendance is the single biggest factor in how fast you progress. If you miss a lesson, watch the recording through the app — but try not to make it a habit.
Each week you will receive a short quiz and practice exercise. These take only a few minutes, but they make a significant difference to how much you retain and how quickly you improve.
The Daily Dose feature sends you a short lesson or vocabulary exercise each morning. Spending five minutes with it every day keeps Italian active in your mind between weekly classes.
Both groups start in March 2026 and have a limited number of places. Once full, registration closes. If you have questions before signing up — about the course, the payment method, or anything else — you are welcome to message us directly on WhatsApp and we will reply promptly.
